High Volume Testing

for Lead in Water

Nature 2 Tap is able and prepared to assist with community, state & federal scale testing needs.

Do you represent a government organization, school district, health organization, etc. - and in need of consistently reliable testing for lead in water? Look no further - Nature 2 Tap is equipped to assist you with testing at all levels and needs. Through the Nature 2 Tap service model, we are able to offer you consistently reliable test results at scale, through our nationwide EPA certified laboratory. As opposed to the current more common method of testing for lead in water, where an on-site technician is required, Nature 2 Tap offers a service that speaks to the needs of affordability, efficiency and reliability - and of course as mentioned, with focus on offering scalable service needs. When working at scale, where hundreds of reliable test results are required, an on-site technician is not efficient, affordable or scalable.

How does it work?

Nature 2 Tap has made water testing easier than ever before. With decades of expertise in testing for total lead (dissolved & solid lead), we have shaped our service model to assist you with ease throughout the entire process. In short, you just fill up the vials we send you, fill in the chain of custody, then place them back in the kit to ship to your lab.

Sounds easy right? We know you’ve got questions, here are your answers:

We will gladly assist you in determining how many vials you will likely need for your situation, you will receive the vials in our test kit boxes in the mail (see photo). Once you receive the kits, you can watch the “how-to” video HERE. You simply fill the vials following the very simple instruction sheet found in the kit (or follow the video). Close the vials and place them back in the box, fill out the chain of custody form provided in the kit, seal the box with the chain-of-custody sticker and place the box in your nearest post box at which point the kit will be sent to our EPA certified lab for testing - and don’t worry, we also provide nationwide prepaid postage.

The EPA certified lab will then perform the specialized testing, and send the results to you via email. It’s as simple as that. We can help you no matter what your testing needs are, and we can do it at scale.

How many vials do you need?

to determine the amount of vials needed to ensure a thorough test of all possible sources of lead contamination, we can do so with the help of a simple diagram.

For the sake of this explanation we have provided an example on the image - showcasing a school campus consisting of 2 buildings with classrooms, and 1 gymnasium building. So in total we have 3 buildings, each having its water sourced from an independent service line. Within each building there are local pipes that bring the water from the service line to the fountain or faucet where the students get drinking water from.

Each of the 2 class buildings has 4 classrooms with 2 water sources each; as well as 2 lavatories, each with 1 water fountain that students are likely to drink from. Based on this knowledge we can determine that there are 6 local pipe branches (1 for each classroom and 1 for each lavatory), and ultimately 10 source points for drinking water (4x classrooms with 2x sources + 2x lavatories with 1 water source). So based on this, we know that we need 10 vials for the initial draw samples for each of the faucets/sources, as well as 6 vials to sample the pipes leading to each of the sources. In addition to this we need 1 more vial to get a sample of water after flushing for several minutes, to test the lead concentration of the service line of the building.

Then we have the Gymnasium, which in this case has 2 lavatories with 2 likely drinking water sources each, as well as 2 water fountains/refill stations right next to each other. so we have 3 local pipes and 6 source points for drinking water. Therefore we need 8 vials for the initial draw samples, 3 vials for the local pipes and 1 additional vial to test the service line for any lead concentration level.

quick calculations will tell us that we will need a total of 17 vials for each of the school buildings (34 vials in total) and 10 vials for the gymnasium. In total, for this scenario, you will need 44 vials to conduct a thorough and reliable sample selection for the testing for lead levels in the water at this school campus. If the results then come back positive, further testing can be done to isolate the culprit based on the original samples tested by our EPA certified lab.

As you can see on the image, each service line, local pipe and faucet/fixture is labelled with a number. To calculate how many vials you will need to conduct a thorough and reliable test of a building or campus, you can draw a diagram like the one in the image and simply add up the total number of labels on the diagram. There are of course outliers based on the structure of the piping, as well as renovations and other infrastructure alterations the buildings have gone through - please get in touch with us through the form below to schedule a free call if you need assistance in determining how many vials or total samples you will need for a thorough test.

Please note - the amount of vials you select is for each of the kits you order in the “quantity” box. So if you select 4 vials and quantity 5, you will receive 5 kits with 4 vials in each for a total of 20 vials.

If your testing needs exceed 20 vials, we would be thrilled to help you land on the exact amount of vials you need and offer you a custom quote for your situation.

Please fill in the form below and please do include where/which organization you are writing from, tell us a bit about the situation, or if you would like to schedule a call with one of our team members feel free to let us know - we are here to help you thoroughly execute your testing needs and get you the EPA certified results as fast as possible.

Nature 2 Tap - Working with you at scale

Efficient, Reliable, Affordable, Scalable - the 4 pillars of our service.

Efficiency

Our service works in a way that lets you receive the necessary number of vials for the amount of tests required. There is no need to consider the variable cost or time of a technician on-site. Instead, with our service all you need to do is follow the simple instructions that come with the kit when filling up the vials (see “how-to” video HERE), fill out the sample form, seal the samples with the chain-of-custody sticker, and drop it in your nearest post box with the prepaid postage. After this, our EPA certified lab will process the samples and send you the results by email.

Reliability

Nature 2 Tap has built a partnership with the only laboratory that is EPA certified in all 50 states of the country. It doesn’t matter where you are testing, or the amount of tests you are in need of sampling - our partnered lab is equipped and certified to do all the testing of your water samples. This means that even if there are any testing plans or operations happening as a cross-state effort, the results will be considered certified congruently. Given the Chain-of-custody service we offer with the samples, the results are reliable as the lab will be aware if there has been any tampering of samples.

Affordability

Due to the structure of our service offering, we are able to provide you with industry grade water testing, however in a sharing-economy fashion. Our partnership with the EPA certified lab allows us to offer the service to you at a fraction of the cost of what any on-site technician would charge. We have been testing for decades and are aware of the fact that reliable testing can come at extremely high prices. Due to the fact that we have been able to isolate all the testing to one nationwide certified lab, with consistent testing needs, we are able to process the samples without needing any on-site technicians which drastically cuts the costs of the operation.

Scalable

Since our service doesn’t require a 3rd party to come out for testing, there really is no limit to the number of water samples that can be done in any given time period - it is up to you how quickly you want to do collect the samples, and when you want to do it. Our EPA certified lab is equipped to test up to 10.000 samples every month, with an average turnover rate of 10 business days for the samples. This is the time it takes for the water samples to be processed properly, so that we can ensure the highest level of reliability we could possibly provide through our service.
